Looks like they brought back the black bar on the desktop. I like it, aside from the tiny profile pic; it’s nice to not have the main blogs hidden IMO, and I like this iteration’s immediate access for FP sub-blogs.
The back-to-top button that appears when you scroll up slightly is great, too - if only we had it on mobile Kinja.
My one major gripe with desktop Kinja at the moment is that I’ve occasionally had pages become buggy as hell - loading additional comments on a post takes more time, and the tab lags when scrolling up or down; closing an affected tab clears ~1 GB of RAM. That might just be a result of having multiple Kinja tabs open on Chrome, though.

It’s only on the main Gawker Media blogs (shuttered namesake blog aside) - it’s not present on any other blogs.
I do wish that they’d give custom blogs the ability to sticky posts like they do on the FP.

It’s alright, but I still say we should petition Univision to ditch kinja and bring back Nibbles.
